Welcome to Nana Ramen, a hidden gem on Malcolm X Boulevard in Brooklyn that invites you to embark on a delightful culinary journey through the heart of Japan. This intimate Japanese restaurant is known for its authentic ramen, offering a cozy, no-frills atmosphere perfect for casual dining, date nights, or simply indulging in a comforting bowl of noodles.

At Nana Ramen, the rich, fragrant broth is the star of the show. The famous Black Tonkotsu is a must-try; its deeply flavorful, umami-packed broth has been lovingly simmered for hours, creating a robust foundation that envelops perfectly cooked noodles. Each slurp of this ramen feels like a warm hug, giving your taste buds a profound experience that lingers long after your meal.

For those looking to spice things up, the Spicy Miso ramen offers a savory kick, complemented by chashu, scallions, corn, and tender baby bok choi, for a delightful textural contrast. If you're feeling adventurous, don't miss the Tan Tan, featuring minced pork and vibrant bean sprouts that dance in a rich, nutty broth. Each dish, served with fresh ingredients, encapsulates authenticity while presenting a thoughtfully crafted taste of Japan.

But it’s not just the ramen that shines; Nana Ramen has an array of delicious small dishes to kick off your meal. The Takowasa, with its delightful slices of octopus paired with tobiko and a hint of wasabi ginger, offers a daring yet refreshing start. Alternatively, the Gyoza, filled with shrimp and pork, are pan-fried to perfection, providing a crispy exterior that gives way to savory goodness inside.

The atmosphere at Nana Ramen adds to its charm—dimly lit with a cozy vibe that makes it an ideal spot to unwind. Many patrons, like Brithny Henry, appreciate the intimate feel, describing it as “one of my fave spots in the neighborhood to grab a bowl of ramen and hot sake.” However, you might want to note that this cash-only establishment can lure you into lengthy waits, especially during peak hours, but the food is undoubtedly worth it.

Customers echo similar sentiments, highlighting the friendly staff, like Irin, whose warm service enhances the dining experience. Whether it’s a delicious bowl of Seafood Ramen on a rainy day or a casual evening with a few drinks and Takoyaki, Nana Ramen promises a dining adventure that ticks all the boxes for authenticity, flavor, and warmth.

So why not treat yourself to a culinary escape at Nana Ramen? Experience the impeccable skill behind each carefully crafted dish, and join the many satisfied souls who consider it their go-to ramen haven in Brooklyn.

Intimate, no fuss, cash only ramen spot. It’s one of my fave spots in my neighborhood to grab a bowl of ramen and hot sake. The new waitress at the front can be rude at times— I had to remind her that I’ve been waiting for a seat, after she seated 2 couples before me. She tried making up a rule that I can only sit at the counter but I’ve been here MULTIPLE times to dine alone before and never been told that.

Very good ramen place! Great ramen options, and the atmosphere is pretty cozy. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a casual date and want to chat. Sometimes the wait can be long, but overall the service is good! Also, the place is cash only!

Nana ramen is such a cool small intimate spot. I love the down low lights, great for date night or even just for that cool at home vibe. The waitresses are always nice and the place is very clean. The food is very good and my husband and I love to do date night at this spot. The prices are adorable too

Low key ramen that always hits the spot. The staff are so friendly, efficient and helpful. We love Irin, she is so sweet and always makes our experience better. The ramen is delicious, as are the many appetizers. Lately, I’ve been getting the seasonal cold ramen. It’s like a noodle salad with fried oysters. It’s soooooo good. They have great drinks and fun Japanese sodas.

Nana Ramen distinguishes itself in Brooklyn's vibrant culinary landscape with its exceptional Black Tonkotsu, a ramen experience defined by a meticulously crafted, deeply flavorful broth that speaks of hours of patient simmering, delivering a profound umami richness. This broth is the perfect canvas for their perfectly cooked, al dente noodles, which provide just the right chew and texture. What truly elevates Nana Ramen above its competitors is the generous portion of tender, high-quality pork, a stark contrast to the often meager offerings found elsewhere. The melt-in-your-mouth pork is a testament to their commitment to quality ingredients. The dining experience is further enhanced by the attentive and friendly service, creating a welcoming atmosphere amidst the bustling Brooklyn scene. While the cash-only policy, with an on-site ATM, presents a minor inconvenience in a city where card transactions are the norm, the overall quality of the ramen and service makes Nana Ramen a must-visit destination for any serious ramen enthusiast.

After a long hard day of physical work, we came here for a nice meal, and boy were be happy! The Ramen is well portioned, and the broth feels like a warm hug to the soul. The staff was lovely, and the customers were all friendly. Highly recommend getting an appetizer as well as a bowl, the Takawasa was delicious and well priced.
